ABOUT US

The Melbourne Dental Students’ Society (MDSS) has played an important role in enriching the student experience since the founding of the Melbourne Dental School. With over 400 members, the MDSS is a non-profit student-run organisation with the purpose to represent and protect the interests of students in the Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) and Bachelor of Oral Health (BOH) programs. The MDSS strives to provide the students of the Melbourne Dental School with Australia’s best student experience by organising a variety of extracurricular activities throughout the academic year. These activities provide a platform where students can socialise, network, and build on their knowledge.

The MDSS committee is comprised of senior level DDS and BOH students who aim to deliver exciting and memorable experiences for all students of the Melbourne Dental School. The events hosted by the MDSS cater to a variety of interests such as social, charitable, and academic. With this variety, the MDSS hopes to promote a balanced lifestyle for students. The events also provide the opportunity for students to network with local dental and healthcare related companies. In addition, educational events serve to supplement university studies in order to broaden the scope of learning and understanding for students.
